hell ye im down for doomed timelines. if nobody else leaps in, cain could come in and kill everyone. i've been imagining what will happen for her, if she would crack under pressure or rise to the occasion. it would be interesting to find out i suppose. haha, im not sure what else we should throw in. im pretty open. |

I think, and this comes from the mind of someone who doesn't know everything, or even half the things, about Homestuck, that the Doom player cracking is the #1 cause of timeline doom. What I'm more curious about is if timeline-hopping is possible for the Time player, and if he could take people with him so that a couple of us have future-selves to help out a bit. It'd be a great explanation for all those people with obscene amounts of Grist getting the items they buy OOC.

"Doomed timelines cannot interact with universes outside of them. The doomed player may contribute to the alpha timeline in a constructive way for short while, but will soon die." That's from the Homestuck wiki's page on time shenanigans. So, canon-wise, Time players can't interact with the universe outside of their doomed timeline (which is the primary reason for both Kimiko and Lucia not traveling back in time to prevent said doomed timeline from happening, IC-wise) and therefore they can't bring other people with them, unfortunately. :c
There's good news, though -- as long as the timeline isn't doomed, Time players can go back in time to help out past selves. It works as an explanation.
But there's a catch with that -- according to Leap, "[7/25/2014 7:56:59 PM] The Judge (LEAP): When fighting against underlings and bosses and such, it would take the same amount of posts as another character to defeat the enemy she's [ the time player is ] fighting.

And oh hey here's a loophole though: "... however a person can travel back in time from the doomed timeline and avert the timeline ever being created. In fact this is at times necessary to succeed, meaning a doomed timeline has to exist in order to ensure its own non-existence." -- Homestuck wiki on doomed timelines
So basically, you can travel back through the doomed timeline, but not the other timelines in the universe.
If you're talking about sending knowledge back, though: "Players from doomed timelines can also send their memories back to their past selves on the alpha timeline. This is accomplished by going to sleep before the doomed timeline is erased. It is possible because, according to Dave, dream selves operate somewhat outside the normal time continuum, allowing memories from alternate timelines to be passed on. It should be noted, however, that the only player to ever do this has been Rose Lalonde, who is a Seer and has said, that her alternate timeline memories come to her like visions. So it is unclear how much of this phenomenon might relate to her class."

FELICITY ABERNATHY Aren't the sessions entirely separate? I don't see how Felicity could be a part of this. If there's a way, I'm very much interested. As far as the cause of doom, if our Doom player wants to sabotage the frogs in a way that time shenanigans can't fix then please, be my guest. Or we could find a way to doom the timeline that doesn't involve the doombard. Or a way to doom the timeline in spite of the doombard not wanting to doom the timeline. DOOOOOOOM. On a slightly less doom-y note, what's everyone's weapon going to be? I'm kind of drawing a blank on later-tier pistols and I have absolutely no idea what my time control object is gonna be.

As I said, I'm drawing a blank on what pistols are gonna look like later. I'm gonna alchemize my base gun with whatever comes to mind at the moment, or whatever my server player hits me with immediately preceding the alchemization, and see what I get for the alpha timeline. I need ideas for the doomed one, and seeing what other people think might be cool.

like im reading that stuff about time and i don't know if it's because i don't like sci-fi?? or if it's because it's really late here?? but im totally not processing all of that so basically im just down for whatever. if you want cain to go nuts sure, if she doesn't go nuts hell ye. if i kill some frogs sure. timeywimey stuff has never been strong suit, gomen. heck, we could do them all? wasn't it said that there are tons of doomed timelines?? im assuming??
as for weapons im not sure yet?? i had an idea that i would mix a saxophone and a match together and get some weird SAXOFLAME or another weapon with her keytar.
