greeting! we, the people of skaianet - producers of the game, SBURB, in your hands - would like to implement a few rules as to make sure you have nothing but the safest time playing the beloved "game of the year". keep these things in mind, and deaths will remain minimal! er, may, that is.
❝ THE RULES ❞ | ▼ |
GENERAL RULES
• respect the people around you and treat them as you would like to be treated.
• please keep drama and fighting to the absolute minimal, in the chat, personal messages, and anywhere on the site. that sort of thing won't be tolerated.
• in ooc, your grammar doesn't have to be one hundred percent perfect, but please make it understandable.
• keep spam on the boards and chat to a minimal.
• grist is earned through posting; 25 grist per post in the ic boards. you may only make purchases for such things as alchemizing and fraymotifs with the grist the character you're giving the item/attack to, and can only transfer grist from the player's guardian, exile, or sprite.
• one account per character, please.
• log in with each character daily if you are available, and post at least once every week.
• if you are leaving for any reason at all, whether it be some serious stuff or just a loss of muse let us know immediately. don't feel guilty about it or anything; we'd rather you let us know so we can replace your character in the session as soon as possible then have you fade from existence and leave us scratching heads.
• activity checks will be held monthly. the time frame for posting and letting us know that you're staying with us will last one week. should you not contact us within that week, your characters will be moved into the archives, as well as all of their threads. should you be returning to us and wish to have them back, let us know.
CHARACTER RULES
• register with your character's first name and change their display name to their first and last name in all capital letters.
• children playing in the sessions are not required to have a four letter first name as they do in the original comic; while that would be more true to canon and pretty fun, we feel it is an unnecessary limit on creativity.
• make sure to reserve face claims and classpects before making your application. if two people try for one god tier title or one face claim, the person who reserved is the one who will get it.
• do not try to claim a class or aspect that someone in your session already has. if there is someone with your desired class or desired aspect in the other session, that is not a problem, but if your title is conflicting with an existing character in your session, thinkof changing it.
• keep an even number of prospit dreamers and derse dreamers, as well as females and males in both sessions. this does not mean that the numbers must be even at all times, but if there are five males and two females, we'll obviously prefer a character of the latter over that of the former. if there are six males/females or prospit/derse dreamers in one session, they are banned until one of those characters should fall inactive.
• you are allowed one character in each session. as of now, there are two sessions that may have no fewer than two and no more than twelve characters. should the need for more sessions ever arrive in the future, we will add more and you will be allowed to play another SBURB candidate.
• "extra" characters, such as carapaces, guardians, and sprites are allowed - encouraged, even - to be roleplayed. if you've got a character in both sessions, but still want another character, we highly suggest you concider picking one of these fellas up.
ROLEPLAYING RULES
• liquid time is allowed... in moderation. before entering the medium, everything should be done in chronological order. afterward, sparse liquid time is allowed, but don't go to crazy. however, it is allowed at its fullest in pesterlogs and dream bubbles. in fact, go crazy with liquid time in pesterlogs and dream bubbles.
• no mary sues or gary stus. please.
• while in a thread with someone else, make sure that you are replying in a way that the other person can respond to. exceptions for this are, obviously, when closing a thread.
• there will be absolutely no god moding, power playing, or meta gaming.
• keep everything clean, tasteful, and pg-13. no inappropriate images or writings around the site.
• make sure to double check all spelling and grammar for in character posts as to make sure they are as understandable as possible.
• make sure that your posts are easy to read and not drowned in a sea of neon colors and vision obscuring posting templates.
• there is no word limit. you may post as little or as much as you want, so long as it's not just a one-liner.
